One of the best electronic albums of 2004 so far is In Strict Confidence‘s “Holy”. Apart from performing at Arvikafestivalen in 3 hours, they will release a new special edition of “Holy”, totally remixed by Benny Boysen aka Hecq. It will be a metalbox edition limited to 1111 copies.

Ah.. feels good to be home again, was my first though, and then I discovered that none of the mails I’ve sent to the blog have been delivered. :(( There seems to be something wrong with my pop-server. Oh well… I’ll remail them from the phone (with edited timestamps). It actually worked better than I though down there, except from the changing of network all the time. Here are some statistics:

The rain makes us stay inside at the small backstreet hotel, watching some motor program on TV. I can’t wait to see the “Anke Late Night” show at SAT1 later. A female flipped out version of Letterman. I’m in love. :) She made one of the funniest interviews I’ve ever seen with Emma Bunton the other day. Mixing and live translating german and english, sometimes with her own interpretations while the other guest, a comedian, made naughty comments. :) We had the “must eat specialty” day today. Döner kebap in Berlin and schnitzel here in Rostock. We also did our beer and liqour shopping, since we probably won’t have time tomorrow. The ferry leaves at 10 for Denmark. Warsteiner, Becks and Hansa beer for me. :) Back to the telly.. I’ll be home tomorrow night…

I got to see Oststrand this summer anyway! We had a beer with the ship’s cat at the Oststrand beach bar. See the live mobile cam. We’re now sitting at an italian-arabian restaurant called Mona Lisa, in Kreuzberg. Their omelette of the house was delicious. We kind of underestimated the time to get here from Stralsund on the cosy village roads. Even though arriving late, I got some nice music shopping done and to see some undiscovered territories. :) Tomorrow, we’re going to Potsdamer Platz to see the new holocaust memorial, and then head for Denmark I guess.

I’m now lying in bed at the InterCity hotel in Stralsund. I had to kickstart the phone, which didn’t find a network on it’s own. On the ferry to Sassnitz, we had company with a bus full of accordion-playing teenage girls, coming directy from a band camp I guess. They played in groups all over the boat, not for money but for joy.. That’s nice, but having to hear “I did it my way” on the toilet is somewhat bizarre. :P
Time for a quick beer to the german version of “Cops” and then sleep.. We’re leaving for Berlin early in the morning.

After a pretty smooth ride, I’m here at my grandparents in Nässjö. The massive rain flooding in Småland didn’t affect us.. not yet at least. :P We only had some rain and fog while driving, which was kind of cosy while listening to Neil Young’s “Harvest”. If I should ever sing karaoke, I think I’d choose to sing “Out On The Weekend” from that album. :) We also listened to Fredrik Lindström’s chronicle on radio P1. Pretty good. Listen to it online if you missed it. He kind of made me understand what Raymond & Maria’s song was all about, but I’ve already forgotten. ;)
Dad has as good as agreed to drive to Berlin since we didn’t really find anything exciting on the map of the north coast… Wheee! “Ich hab’ noch einen Koffer in Berlin…lalalala..” as Marlene Dietrich sang. :)

I’m going on a little roadtrip with my father tomorrow. We’ll be stopping by my grandparents for a night or two in Nässjö, and then over to Sassnitz and Germany via Trelleborg. From there it’s undecided. I’ll be pushing for Berlin of course, but I’m not the one driving, so we’ll see. ;) The way back home will be through Denmark. I have no idea how many days, but no more than seven. The trip will be documented as good as I can through the live mobile cam and blog entries via email, assuming my mobile phone will work. According to Tre, there shouldn’t be any problems. :) Time to compile some mix-cd’s for the car…

Aimee Mann joins the live-DVD club! The taping of a concert in New York will end up as a live CD and DVD this November! I so regret that I didn’t go see her in Stockholm last year. The live recordings on the bonus-disc of special edition “Lost In Space” is probably a good hint of what’s coming. :)

Oh oh oh ooooooooooooh… *drooling* Give me 2 of those! This just makes me miss my old turntables more than usual..
The Technics SL-DZ1200, the world’s first Direct-Drive Digital Turntable, “looks and more importantly feels” like spinning wax on a classic 1200. The SL-DZ1200 also lets you store, playback, scratch and loop sampled media from a removable SD memory card.
Only $1,199.95 ;).. I think I’d be happy with just one for music playback when I get my own place anyway. :)

I’ll probably never be satisfied with this site. I changed the post font to Verdana. Easier to read. I also made a little About Me-page.

My uncle in Australia, whom I don’t know very well, just passed the test or education to become a fireman.. at his age! (45) Me and Sis’ (who can’t take her hands off the new 3G phone she just bought) had dinner at our grandmothers tonight, and according to her, he said in a dodgy way that we’ll “see” eachother on his upcoming birthday. I’m hoping for a surprise visist. :) I’ve only met him like twice in my life or something.

I finally took the time to get my Mobile Cam Archive together. Instead of the boring directory listing, I fixed the SimpleViewer, made in Flash, to interact with my archive. :) Thanks for the help with those PHP arrays Daniel! An RSS-feed and permalinks are coming… Probably later today. :)
Update:
RSS and permalinks are ready. A super-duper-thanks to John for helping me with the page divider scripting!

If you’re one of those who’s disappointed in Liz Phair’s latest you should check out Diana Anaid. A less polished sound from down under, Australia. She just released her second album, “Beautiful Obscene”. Reminds me to add sanity.com.au to the music shopping links. Recommended for aussie special edition cd’s.

I’m doing a trade with a guy on ebay.de. He wants 6 copies of the turkish singer Sertab‘s single, “Leaving”. Apparently it’s not available there. He and his friends must be really big fans. I guess swedes are considered as a big fans too since it’s only(?) released here. All I know is that she made a pretty good cover of Bob Dylan’s “One More Cup Of Coffee” for the movie “Masked And Anonymous“…
..and for my last cup of coffee of the day, I made some chocolate balls from this recipe, which I’ve used since I was a kid. It’s almost a story of my skills in the kitchen. :)

Wow, I’m very impressed by Greece winning the Euro2004 soccer tournament! Congratulations! According to Franz Beckenbauer, commentator at the German tv channel ZDF, this is the biggest sensation in football for 50 years! (from Chadie). A big thanks to all teams for making this the most exciting championship in a very long time! :)

Prodigy is planning to release their new album “Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned” on August 24th. I can’t really say I’m looking forward to it after hearing the first single, “Girls” (featuring the Ping Pong Bitches). Uninspiring, boring crap compared to their second album “Music For The Jilted Generation“, which meant a lot to me in my early teens. :) Legends never die, but they can sure as hell disappoint. Other guests on the upcoming album will be the actress Juliette Lewis, Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher and the rapper Kool Keith.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-chaaanges! Oh, finally back online. New webhost, and a new publishing platform, WordPress. I’ve got a new design coming also, but I need to figure out how wordpress works a bit more first. :)

Not much work left on the layout now. Some fine tuning on the menu column and I’m about done. I’ll leave that for now… Need to relax a little. Gonna go out in the sun and start reading “Buddenbrooks” by Thomas Mann. SVT is showing “Die Manns“, a three part drama/documentary about the Mann family. It’s very captivating, mixing drama with authentic interviews. Mostly with Elisabeth Mann, but also older archive footage with “Golo” and Erika. The last part will be aired on sunday (18.15 @ SVT2). A DVD-box of it is available in Germany, but without english subs I’m afraid.
